Modules
Eurorack synthesizer modules
Minijack Version
Banana Versions
All CG-Products modules can be also manufactured equipped with banana sockets. The technical specifications are the same as those from the minijack version.
Two different color styles are available:
Version Klassik
‘Klassik’ color schema:

black
Analog input
Audio, control voltages

red
Analog output
Audio, control voltages

white
Binary signal input
high/low; 0V↔+5V: gate, trigger, switching

blue
Binary signal output
0V↔+5V (almost): Squarewave/pulse, gate, trigger outs

gray
Hybrid input
Either analog or binary function (depending on switch state)

violet
Hybrid output
Either analog or binary function (depending on switch state)
Version Helene
‘Helene’ color schema:

white or yellow
Analog input
Audio, control voltages

blue or violet
Output
Audio, control voltages, binary signals

black
Binary signal input
high/low; 0V↔+5V: gate, trigger, switching

gray
Hybrid input
Either analog or binary function (depending on switch state)
Please note: Most CG-Products banana modules have no extra grounding socket. To avoid problems with grounding, we recommend to use the PCV-2 for properly connection with external equipment!
Why Banana?
Using banana connectors for patching in modular synthesizer systems etc. has various advantages. It seems to be the best solution for fast and robust patching, especially in live performing situations.
By standard, the banana plugs are stackable and therefore there is no need for ‘multiples’. The banana cables are relatively inexpensive to get or can be easily self-made. The plugs, the cables, and the sockets are available in many colours, and this may allow faster orentiation by colour in sessions and live performances too.
Crackles, noise or miscountings during patching are being avoided: The banana connection happens directly between the socket and the plug’s ‘hot’ contact – while minijack plugs always touch first with the tip the grounded ring of the socket, which is always causing first a short-circuit to ground!
Although banana cables have no shielding to external interferences – for short distances below 1m to 1.5m (like in the most patchable synth systems) is this almost uncritical.
